About Us
History The Foundation was established in early 1987.
Previously members had belonged to a group known as the Supporters for Living Skills in Chatswood, but decided that it was time to aim for a self sufficient, secure charitable organisation as an independent, incorporated, non-profit organisation with taxation benefit status for charitable donations and philanthropic bequests.
Board The Board of Directors consists of an honorary president, secretary and treasurer as well as additional directors including client members.
Meetings There is a combined board and general meeting for all members every 2nd month, normally on the 1st Monday at 5 pm to 7 pm. All members and other interested parties are welcome. Contact us for the date and place (at present at KNC) of the next meeting and come along. With the closure in July 2009 of "Westview Cottage" by NSW Health, programs are presently run from various locations on the Lower North Shore (LNS). Westview was a drop in centre for mental health consumers situated in Hercules Street, Chatswood.
Current alternative venues are:
- Kirribilli Neighbourhood Centre (KNC)
- North Sydney Community Centre (NSSC),
behind Stanton Library
- Royal North Shore Hospital (RNSH)
Disscussions are ongoing to move programs back to Hercules Street, Chatswood.
